Gentle Touch™ Reflexology
My training was sponsored by The Millennium Commission for “Help the Hospices” whilst working as a volunteer giving Reiki to day patients and their carers at the Bassettlaw Hospice of the Good Shepherd, in Retford, Nottinghamshire.
Reflexology is a hands on, drug free, holistic complementary therapy that works through the feet or hands with the energies of the body. Reflexologists believe that all parts of the body are connected by subtle energy. Its purpose is to treat the whole person rather than just the symptoms. When there is illness the energy channels are blocked, and the flow of energy is disturbed. Working on the feet restores “homeostasis” – the body’s equilibrium. By correcting imbalances it is hoped to stimulate the body’s own natural ability to heal itself, and to prevent illness from developing. Treatment relaxes the body, aids circulation, and relieves uncomfortable symptoms. Relief can be almost immediate, but long standing conditions may take time to subside as the healing is needed at a deeper level.
Gentle Touch Reflexology is a gentle, subtle adaptation of standard foot Reflexology, as it uses a unique and specifically applied lightness of touch. Using a light oil the treatment is like a painless, extremely relaxing and soothing foot massage.
Although there can be no promise of ‘cure’, Reflexology can be used for the relief of a multitude of conditions including:
Aches and pains, Lack of Energy
Anxiety, M.E.
Arthritis, Migraine
Asthma, Neck and Back Problems
Bowel Conditions, Non-specific Ailments
Fatigue, Sinus Conditions
Grief and Depression
Skin Conditions, Headaches
Sports Injuries, Hormonal Stress
Gentle Touch™ Reflexology can be helpful for PMT, and during pregnancy and childbirth. Treatment often eases the symptoms of multiple sclerosis, and can assist patients in the management of their conditions.
Just a few words for you about my experience with reflexology… I started having reflexology at around 12 weeks into my pregnancy, after my treatments my whole well being improved greatly, I had loads of energy and was so positive about the birth of my baby. I continued to have reflexology once a week until the week before my little girl (Ireland) was born. My whole attitude towards the birth changed, only 3 hours! Loved every minute of it - and I put it all down to my weekly sessions. My little girl is an angel, so happy. She slept through the night from about 4 weeks and now loves going to bed listening to relaxing music as I did when having my treatments. Reflexology definitely helped me throughout my pregnancy and birth. Carla Williams, Nottinghamshire
This is an ancient practice used by the Aboriginals, North Americans, and the Ancient Chinese. A wall painting was found in one of the tombs in Egypt, providing evidence of its existence thousands of years ago.
The cost of treatment is £40.00 per session
