What is Energy Psychology?

Energy Psychology / Meridian Therapies is a remarkable family of self help and practitioner methods that are at the forefront of defining Personal Development and Personal Empowerment in the 21st Century.

All Energy Psychology Techniques work by releasing the underlying energy disturbances from the human energy system in order to recognise and deal with the root cause of our particular issues, behaviours, or beliefs.

This group includes treatments that include Thought Field Therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique, EmoTrance, ‘RELEASE’, Be Set Free Fast, Tapas Acupressure Technique and other such therapies. Each of these methods works intentionally with the human energy systems, for example, the meridian system.

Other deep therapies that access subconscious information, may also act energetically, (that is, they may cause energetic releases and healing), for eg. EMDR (Eye-Movement, Desensitization and Re-Processing). However, such therapies do not intentionally utilize the body's energetic systems and are not, therefore, called "energy psychology" therapies.

Why Use the Energy System for lnner Healing and Growth?

Traditionally counselling, psychotherapy and many other “talking therapies” do act deeply to help release emotional blocks, foster healing and change emotional patterns. However, Energy Psychology techniques add one more unique therapeutic dimension. By correcting a disruption in the energy system, these techniques can bring balance within a disturbed internal pattern promoting inner harmony.

How can Energy Psychology help?

Sessions are client orientated and depending upon the training of the qualified Practitioner she/he may choose any one of a number of techniques depending on the client’s moment to moment needs.

Energy Psychology techniques are powerful tools for Personal Empowerment and Personal Development and infinitely effective for a multitude of emotional issues.

For instance, a phobic response to flying would be replaced by a calm, response to all aspects of flying. The recognisable symptoms of distress such as a pounding heart, lumps in the throat, distorted perceptions and negative emotions (fear, panic, anger, helplessness, confusion, etc.) are replaced by peaceful feelings. And all of this can be achieved using the natural resources of the body’s energetic system.

These changes usually occur within a single session of treatment, and yet the inner transformation is often profound and enduring. And, frequently the treatment of one issue has the added bonus of eliminating other emotional issues.

The list of effective uses for Energy Psychology is endless, here are just a few:

Painful memories, grief and traumatic experiences,

Anger, rage, resentment, irritability,

Moodiness, sadness, depression, low self esteem, insecurity,

Relationship difficulties, performance issues, and limiting beliefs.

As with all other therapeutic interventions, Energy Psychology techniques do not work with every single client. However, clinical experience shows that most people can benefit. The techniques are known to produce good results for self help and supporting clinical treatments. However, because Energy Psychology is powerful and can cause deep emotional release, it is recommended that long standing and deep rooted issues be addressed initially by a trained and licensed Practitioner.

Energy Psychology / Meridian Therapies are without doubt changing the face of “talking” therapies today, not necessarily as a replacement but a really effective complimentary treatment that often “leapfrogs” people through their process. For others who come to Meridian Therapies as a first resort the effects are often staggeringly effective, removing fears, phobias, and disabling beliefs in a short space of time. It is not unusual to hear clients talk of life changing experiences in a single session.

These tools have effects out of all proportion to their costs and complexity. They are effective in getting straight to the cause, releasing emotional stress and beliefs that often determine our health, well being and behavioural responses. The results are usually rapid and often amazing.

Self sabotage and limiting beliefs induce stress and adversely impact health and behaviour. Energy Psychology, through its ability to rapidly identify and modify / reprogramme limiting misconceptions represent the most powerful and effective process to enhance physical and emotional wellbeing.
